  1. Lina’s Microteaching
To reflect on a friend’s microteaching is not easy as one needs to be objective and positive at the same time. Generally speaking, Lina did a good job. Her objectives were clear and all the parts of her lesson plan were included. Her tasks were achieved in almost the specified time frame. She engaged her students and checked their comprehension, had confidence, and good body language. Lina adopted the direct method of teaching where she used drilling and repetition. I prefer if she would have used both the direct and the indirect methods to enrich her instruction and to allow students to engage in different kinds of activities to construct their own knowledge. Although she was organized, she could have prepared more activities on “subject pronouns” instead of jamming all the activities in such a small time period (20 min). Moreover, she could have started her instruction by showing the power point presentation and consider it as an introductory or a warm-up activity. Her lesson plan lacked authentic material and the homework assignment should have been given to students without explanation. I encourage Lina and hope she will do better in her next microteaching.

  2. Lina had a good lesson plan and execution in general. Her lesson objectives stages were clear. she followed a direct instruction method in teaching personal pronouns. Instructional skills were effective : good eye contact, professional look and voice control. Making us repeat the personal pronouns was beneficial to an extent but might create a little boredom among students. She had a nice colorful Power point presentation. She could have used it at the beginning as a presentation of the target language. All in all Lina did a good job and I hope she shows improvement in her second teaching. Good luck.

  3. lina introduced a grammar lesson about the “personal Pronoun”. At the beginning of the lesson she informed students about the objective of her lesson and explain for students what is a subject pronoun. Her lesson was well organized and clear she made a good interaction with students. she pick up students to practice subject pronoun by showing and indicating on persons and things She also reviewed and checked for students understanding by asking questions. She had a good voice, she was confident, made eye contact with students and she had a good body language.
I prefer if she introduced the power point at the beginning of the lesson. I think it could be more beneficial for students if she made connection between the pictures in the power point and her explanation for the personal pronouns. in the other hand, the power point presentation at the beginning of the lesson helps to gain students’ attention. Despite this, lina did a good job.
